So called social assets were considered as a proud of Soviet metallurgy in due time. Transfer to market relations made some companies to refuse their social assets. UMMC could both save these assets and adapt social infrastructure of its enterprises for the operation in new market conditions. Today the company maintenances the following social assets:
- 14 sanatoriums-preventoriums;
- 12 health-improving camps for children;
- 9 stadiums;
- 8 sport centers;
- 6 swimming pools;
- 11 culture centers;
- 9 recreation centers;
- boarding house.
In situation when municipal authorities have no enough funds for maintenance of social assets UMMC voluntarily takes its financing making great contribution to provision of positive social climate within the territories.
At the same time UMMC management does not decline the task of increase of social assets work economic efficiency, improvement of their services quality by means of resource base development and also search and use of house-keeping modern ways. Particularly sport center of UMMC (opened in the end of 2005) with location in Verkhnyaya Pyshma meets these requirements.
