The program “Affordable housing” has been in effect since 2004 at UMMC and is realized in 28 organizations of the company, located in eleven constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The goal of the program is to motivate young professionals, highly skilled workers and representatives of rare professions to continue their work at the plants.
The program is realized according to several schemes:
From 2004 till 2007 1,75 billion rubles were directed to finance the program. It allowed the company to provide 1 770 employees of the holding with new apartments. In the first place they are representatives of rare professions and highly skilled workers. About 70% of them are young people of the age up to 35. During the effect of the program the plants of UMMC built 13 new houses, reconstructed one dormitory and built 114 apartments within the scope of taking part in shared construction. In addition, the holding takes part in constructing the low-rise buildings. 11 cottages and 1 house have been built. In 2008 UMMC plans to direct about 1,8 billion rubles (growth will be by a factor of 1,8 as compared with 2007) to the corporate housing program. More than 1 670 people intend to take part in the program this year.
