One of major requirements of present-day production is ecologic safety. We are responsible for environmental protection as well-being of next generations depends on it. Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company bases its policy in conformity with this very concept.
Implementation of environmentally-friendly and resource-saving technologies allows to cut down production costs, to maintain the image of ecologically safe and clean enterprises of the holding.
Company's efforts are aimed to overtop contemporary requirements to environmental protection that mining, metallurgical and processing factories should comply with at all stages: from mining and processing mineral resources to manufacture of value-added products. All enterprises constituting the holding company have adopted and successfully realize the programs on environmental safety strengthening.
The Department of Industrial and Environmental Safety was established in 2000 to coordinate the environmental activity of UMMC enterprises. The Department deals with ecological securing of projects and monitoring environment on sites.
UMMC is planning to fulfill gradually the international ecological management standards ISO 14001 at all its enterprises.
