The European Regulation on Chemicals Management, REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) was enforced in the European Union in 2007 (EC № 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006). The aim is to provide better information throughout the whole supply chain on the effects of substances, and thereby improve protection to human health and the environment from chemical-related risks.
Since 1 December 2008 all chemicals that are produced or imported in the EU in quantities exceeding 1 MT per year must be pre-registered and finally registered at the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki, Finland.
UMMC’s enterprises have successfully performed the pre-registration and further registration of substances via their only representative Halma Export&Import GmbH, Austria subject to the REACH Regulation, and notified small tonnage substances subject to the CLP Regulation.
