Region economy
About 35% of bare aluminum wire as well as 100% of railway cranes and about 15% of truck tyres are produced in this region. These products are known in more than 35 foreign countries including USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Canada. The key industries are machine-building and metal-working industries (20.1%), chemical and petrochemical (18.7%), power industry (15.3%); timber, woodworking and pulp and paper industries (14.8%), food sector (13.2%), light industry (5.3% of total output). The region is rich in wood, phosphorites, peltry-ware, peat, water and land resources.
